Home Taste Ireland ("we", "us", "our") operates the Home Taste Ireland mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

We aim to collect as little personal information as possible. Here is what the App may collect:

• Anonymous authentication: The App uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication to provide features like favourites and recently viewed recipes. This creates a random identifier that is not linked to your name, email, or any personal details.
• Locally stored data: Your favourites, recently viewed recipes, shopping list items, cooked recipe history, and app preferences (such as dark mode) are stored locally on your device using shared preferences. This data never leaves your device.
• Purchase information: If you subscribe to a premium plan, the transaction is handled entirely by Google Play. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment details (card numbers, billing address, etc.). Google Play provides us with a purchase token to verify your subscription status.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or physical address.
• We do not track your location.
• We do not use advertising SDKs or serve ads in the App.
• We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google): For anonymous authentication and cloud data storage. Firebase's privacy policy is available at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
• Google Play Billing: For processing in-app purchases and subscriptions. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
• Google Fonts: The App loads fonts from Google Fonts. Google's privacy policy applies.

4. Data Storage and Security

The majority of your data (favourites, shopping lists, preferences) is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to any server. Any data stored in Firebase (such as anonymous user identifiers) is protected by Google's infrastructure security measures.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

6. Your Rights

Since we collect minimal data and most of it stays on your device, you have full control:

• You can clear all locally stored data by clearing the App's data in your device settings or by uninstalling the App.
• You can request deletion of any server-side data by contacting us at the email below.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
